Omari Evans has become the latest member of the 2024 Penn State football roster to find a new college program via the transfer portal. The ex-Nittany Lions wide receiver is set to make a cross-country move, even if he’ll ultimately stay within the Big Ten.
On Wednesday night, Evans announced his decision to transfer to Washington via On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The decision comes two days after the junior pass catcher was reported to be visiting with Jedd Fisch and the Huskies in Seattle.
In addition to Washington, Tennessee, Texas Tech, and Syracuse were also reportedly interested in Evans.

A three-star recruit in 2022, Evans appeared in 38 games over his Penn State football career, finishing with 30 receptions for 564 yards and seven touchdowns. Evans served as the deep threat for the Nittany Lions’ passing attack last fall, with catches of over 20 yards in seven games.
However, with only one season of eligibility remaining, Evans will not have the opportunity to face his former school on the field. Penn State football doesn’t play Washington again until the 2026 regular-season finale at Husky Stadium.

Omari Evans becomes the sixth former Nittany Lion to announce a transfer decision. He is the second player to stay within the conference, with cornerback Cam Miller committing to Big Ten rival Rutgers last week.
With the move, both of Penn State’s leading receivers from the 2024 roster have found new homes. Over the weekend, Harrison Wallace III announced his transfer to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.
