It all started on Friday night before the Peach Bowl when some Penn State football fans put on their research caps. A mysterious new Penn State account appeared on Twitter/X that only had a handful of followers. The account appeared to be a Penn State fan who was expressing their mind and supporting the Nittany Lions. Some trash talk and all of that good stuff, but then as you looked through the tweets there were some made-up player quotes. Specifically coming from linebacker Kobe King who did not speak to the media before the Peach Bowl. Nittany Nation figured out it was Ole Miss offensive analyst Fisher Ray who created the account and following the Peach Bowl Lane Kiffin confirmed this.

I don’t have an issue with trolling or trying to have some fun when supporting your team. But making up fake quotes to drive motivation is a bizarre thing to do. After attempting to reset the password on the account, the email address appeared and after some digging it fit Fisher Ray’s Ole Miss email perfectly.

Here are some examples of the tweets that Fisher Ray posted from this account. It appears as if the account is supporting Penn State football but at the end of the day, it was mocking the Nittany Lions.

This went as far as reaching the head coach of the Ole Miss football team Lane Kiffin.

Following the Peach Bowl someone asked Kiffin if he knew about the account and if he had any thoughts surrounding it.

“I thought it was pretty funny actually, because they discovered that it was Fisher Ray, one of our assistants that did it, one of our student assistants, so Fisher is now kinda famous,” Kiffin said in response.

Long story short, it was just an overall odd situation that is now over and done with. Since the game ended the account has been deleted and life moves on.
