Over the years the Penn State football team has started to become a tight end powerhouse. Producing players that not only have a tremendous impact in college but have gone onto the NFL and had great starts to their pro careers. Jesse James, Mike Gesicki, Pat Freiermuth, Brenton Strange, with Theo Johnson and Tyler Warren looking to be in that conversation after the 2023 season. The future continues to look bright on the recruiting trial and in the tight end room as 2024 four-star TE commit Luke Reynolds continues to look terrific in his workouts. Over the weekend he was on campus for the Lasch Bash and continued to turn the heads of the Penn State coaching staff.
2024 Penn State football TE commit Luke Reynolds continues to impress
Luke Reynolds has been through a whirlwind over the past several months. Not only did he make his commitment in March of 2023 to Penn State, but he has made his presence known at the national recruiting level as well. He is currently rated as the No. 1 player in Connecticut and the No. 49 player nationally according to 247sports. But that has not always been the case as he had a tremendous leap in his recruiting ranking going from a three-star to a four-star recruit and from the 299th player nationally to No. 49 where he sits today.
In the above highlight from the Lasch Bash weekend, Luke Reynolds shows why he is one of the smoothest route runners in the country. With his athleticism and strong hands, the Nittany Lions have potentially found the next great Penn State TE.
The All22 helped Reynolds gain the attention he deserved
While 2024 Penn State QB commit Ethan Grunkemeyer impressed at the Elite 11 Finals in June, it was the All22 that helped Luke Reynolds gain more national recruiting attention. The All22 takes the nation’s top offensive and defensive skill positions and they compete against each other in various drills. Luke Reynolds was awarded one of the All-Tourney Team Offense MVP awards for the All22.
Luke Reynolds has five-star potential as he continues to climb the recruiting ladder before his senior season. He is a name that you need to become familiar with now, because once he steps on campus his impact on the field could be immediate.
