Kickoff details for first Penn State road trip of 2025 revealed

Even with this Saturday’s White Out taking most of the attention, we are learning more about the first time Penn State football will hit the road this season.

This week, Penn State football is focused on the top-six showdown with Oregon coming to Happy Valley on Saturday night. However, we are also learning more about the first time that the Nittany Lions will leave the friendly confines of Beaver Stadium in 2025.

Releasing its Week 6 kickoff schedule on Monday afternoon, the Big Ten revealed that the Nittany Lions’ October 4 road trip to UCLA will begin at 3:30 p.m. and air on CBS.

With a win, Penn State would even the historic series with UCLA, which stands at 3-4 in favor of the Bruins all-time. Last fall, Drew Allar threw for 237 yards with a passing and rushing touchdown as the Nittany Lions rolled the Bruins 27-11 inside Beaver Stadium.

It has been a rough opening to the 2025 season for UCLA, to say the least. Starting 0-3, the Bruins fired head coach DeShaun Foster on September 14 following a 35-10 loss to New Mexico.

Beyond the potential emotional letdown following this week’s White Out matchup, the trip to Westwood will also present the challenge of cross-country travel. Penn State traveled to Los Angeles to battle USC last October, a contest that ended in a walk-off field goal from Ryan Barker in overtime.

But before any of next week’s logistical considerations come into play, the Blue and White must take care of business on Saturday against Oregon. The Nittany Lions open the week as a 3.5-point favorite over the No. 6 Ducks.

“It’s been impressive to watch what they’ve been able to do in a short period of time,” James Franklin said on Monday. “…We need this place rocking. Need to have a distinct home field advantage. We always do, but I’m expecting this to be an environment like no one has ever seen.”
