No major upsets took place ahead of the Penn State football team this week in college football. The chaos was behind the Nittany Lions, but that still makes this week’s edition of the AP Poll much more interesting. Penn State handled UMass this weekend and now, we have finally made it to the biggest game of the year so far for Penn State as they hit the road to take on Ohio State this Saturday. In a matchup that could decide the race for the Big Ten East and even the College Football Playoff.

JUST IN: Penn State football jumped AGAIN in AP Poll

The Penn State football team was able to handle its business following the bye week. The Nittany Lions defeated UMass 63-0 in one of the most dominating displays of football in recent memory. Their next opponent Ohio State took care of business on the road at Purdue, so the Buckeyes will hold its No. 3 ranking in the AP Poll. But where did Penn State land this week?

In a top-10 showdown yesterday between No. 7 Washington and No. 8 Oregon, the Huskies found a way to get the job done winning 36-33. Because of this result, the Huskies have moved to No. 5 in the week 8 edition of the AP Poll. With this result, the Penn State football team will fall to the No. 7 spot in the AP poll this week.

Behind the Nittany Lions, No. 10 USC was dominated by No.21 Notre Dame where the Fighting Irish won 48-20. USC dropped to No. 18 this week and Notre Dame climbed back to No. 15 for the week 8 edition of the AP Poll.
