Penn State football letterman Jordan Hill has resigned from his position as head coach at Trinity High School. First reported by PennLive Wednesday, the former Nittany Lions and NFL defensive lineman submitted his formal resignation to the Camp Hill area school last week. The news comes days after Hill’s Nittany Lion teammate and Shamrocks associate head coach Michael Mauti was introduced as Penn State’s new Associate Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics.
Jordan Hill resigns as Trinity head football coach
Wednesday morning, PennLive was the first to report that ex-Penn State defensive lineman Jordan Hill submitted his formal resignation as Trinity High School’s football coach late last week. He reportedly met with the Shamrocks players on Monday.
The news was later confirmed by several other Harrisburg area news outlets.
Hill had been the head football coach and Director of Advancement at Trinity since 2021 after serving as an assistant at Cumberland Valley. The former Nittany Lion played three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks from 2013 to 2015, earning a championship ring in Super Bowl XLVIII.
Hill then bounced from the Washington Commanders, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Detroit Lions rosters in 2016 and 2017. He finished his NFL career with 50 tackles and seven sacks.
Jordan Hill was a force in the middle of the Nittany Lions defensive line by the end of his time in Happy Valley. His senior season in 2012 saw a career-best 64 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and an interception, earning the Steelton, Pennsylvania, native a first-team All-Big Ten selection.
Hill finished his Penn State football career with 166 tackles and 9.5 sacks.
Penn State football letterman returns to school in fundraising role
Of course, Jordan Hill is not the only Penn State letterman to leave the Trinity football program in the last week. On Monday, ex-Nittany Lions linebacker Michael Mauti was announced as the university’s new Associate Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics.
Mauti will work closely with the Nittany Lion Club in support of fundraising opportunities in this new role, something he is well suited for as a founding member of the Lions Legacy Club NIL collective. Mauti’s group has since merged with Happy Valley United.
While at Trinity as associate head coach, Hill and Mauti coached Messiah Mickens, Penn State’s only commit in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the No. 2 prospect in Pennsylvania. Mickens’ commitment to James Franklin and the Nittany Lions has remained firm, but he has moved on from Trinity. The four-star running back transferred to Harrisburg High School in January.
