Recruiting never stops, even during the season. Penn State football head coach James Franklin and his coaching staff hit the road to check in with one of their top 2024 commits. It’s important to maintain relationships as we inch closer to National Signing Day. Franklin and his staff hosted several top prospects and current commits during the White Out game. In the days following the Nittany Lions secured three new 2025 commits. But this week, James Franklin visited Luke Reynolds, a top commit in the 2024 recruiting class.

Luke Reynolds has been such an interesting recruiting process to follow. To recap, Reynolds made his commitment back on March 25th, 2023. But at the time, many within the Penn State football community didn’t know how great of a player he was. Neither did national recruiting experts. It took a summer of camps and an impressive outing at the Elite 11 Finals to help his stock increase. Now, Luke Reynolds is one of the top tight-end prospects in the country. Reynolds is listed as the No.1 prospect in Connecticut and the No. 49 player in the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247sports.

James Franklin and tight ends coach Ty Howle made sure to check in with Reynolds during the bye week. The Cheshire Academy tweeted the below photo of the Penn State coaching staff visiting Reynolds this week.

It’s safe to say that Coach Franklin is making sure he will maintain as many relationships with his future players during the bye week.

Where does the 2024 recruiting class rank nationally?

Currently, Penn State has the 11th-ranked 2024 recruiting class, according to 247sports. Led by Quinton Martin, Luke Reynolds, Ethan Grunkemeyer, and 21 other commits. Penn State has room to add a player or two in this class. The Nittany Lions are optimistic that they can secure another top-10 recruiting class in 2024.
