The Penn State football team looks to add additional talent on the offensive side of the ball. In the 2025 recruiting class, the Nittany Lions have one offensive line commit, a running back, and a cornerback. But, where they need to expand is securing top prospects at wide receiver. Marcus Harris could be the solution to that issue in the 2025 recruiting class. This elite prospect brings the element of taking the ball to the endzone at any point in a game.

Marcus Harris is a four-star recruit according to 247sports. He plays his high school football at Mater Dei, which is a powerhouse in California. He recently released his top 12 schools which included Tennesee, Georgia, Oklahoma, Miami, Auburn, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Flordia, Ole Miss, and Penn State.

This prospect is a top priority for the Nittany Lions as they need to establish elite playmakers at wide receiver. After the past few seasons, PSU has been able to produce K.J. Hamler, Jahan Dotson, and Parker Washington into the NFL. With that in mind, the Nittany Lions have a key selling point. A direct path to potentially play in the NFL. Penn State offered Harris back on January 31st, 2023. If they can get him on campus for a game this season, that could help seal the deal.

Where do the Nittany Lions stand with WRs in 2024

In the 2024 recruiting class, the Penn State football team was able to secure a lot of talent. Tyseer Denmark and Josiah Brown hold four-star ratings. While Peter Gonzalez who is a three-star recruit has a chance to secure that fourth star with a strong senior season. The Penn State football team hopes that these players will be just the beginning of a long line of great wide receivers in the recruiting pipeline headed to State College.
