After an entire offseason of waiting and speculation, it’s finally here. On Saturday, Penn State football takes on the Ohio State Buckeyes. The college football world is descending upon Columbus for what could be the biggest game of the college football season. Although the underdog heading into the weekend, many feel that this is the year the Nittany Lions finally get a win over the Buckeyes. Win or lose, Saturday is a massive game. But is it the most important game of the James Franklin era at Penn State? We tackle that and more in this week’s edition of our Penn State football gameday central.

Tailgate Talk Podcast: Is Saturday the biggest game of the James Franklin era?

Tailgate Talk is a podcast that brings together lifelong friends and Penn State fans to cover all the happenings around the Nittany Lion football program. Each week, the gang provides their honest, unfiltered, and (sometimes) wild opinions in what can only be described as tailgate talk.

While there was a 63-0 win over UMass to recap, the gang spends the majority of this episode breaking down the matchup on everyone’s mind: Ohio State. The guys discuss the impact of potential injuries for the Buckeyes, as well as what the Penn State offense needs to do to secure a win.

The trio also debate if Saturday is the biggest game of the James Franklin era at Penn State. While a win would certainly jump to the top of Franklin’s greatest games, a loss may not be as defeating as it has been in years past. With the current layout of the Big Ten East, a loss against the Buckeyes only amplifies the magnitude of the November 11 matchup with Michigan.

As always, the guys finish with a preview of all the Week 7 college football action and their picks for Saturday’s slate.
