The Penn State football team is searching high and low for wide receiver talent. The 2023 WR room was simply not good enough for the Nittany Lions. Thankfully, in today’s era of college football, a lot can change in one offseason, especially when using the transfer portal. One of the things that James Franklin and Marques Hagans must do is bring in experienced talent. Penn State cannot wait for portal players to develop, they need to come in and contribute right away. That’s where former UNC wide receiver Andre Greene Jr can make an impact. He will take an official visit to Penn State this weekend.

Former 4-star WR takes official visit with Penn State football

Andre Greene Jr. was a four-star recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. Greene was the No. 3 prospect in Virginia, according to 247Sports, a state where the Nittany Lions recruit well. He had offers from Georgia, Oregon, Clemson, UNC, and Penn State. Unfortunately, at the time, the Nittany Lions were outbid.

But now it appears that the door was re-opened for this player who has spent the last two seasons as a Tarheel. He entered the transfer portal on December 2nd, searching for a new home.

Those conversations with Penn State have gone well. Now, Greene is to the point where he has scheduled and will take an official visit to State College on Friday, 12/8. If that goes well, things could move quickly. In his first two seasons of college football Greene has accounted for 5 catches for 43 yards and 1 touchdown.
