The Penn State football team will travel to Wisconsin to next season to face a new look Badgers team. This is not the same Wisconsin team that many Penn State fans are familiar with. The old-school i-formation days are long gone with Luke Fickell at the helm. But when the Nittany Lions face this new Wisconsin team they will likely have a different starting quarterback in 2024. As a former Miami Hurricane transfer portal QB, Tyler Van Dyke has committed to Wisconsin.

For the first season of Luke Fickell’s tenure in Madison, Wisconsin to say it was rocky is putting it lightly. Many college football fans expected immediate results, but you have to remember that Fickell is still working with players who he did not recruit in the first place. In 2024, that will change and the transfer portal is a big part of that. Earlier tonight former Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke committed to Wisconsin.

Van Dyke had a career year in 2021 throwing for over 2,500 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. Since then, he has yet to recapture that magic coming off of two subpar seasons back to back. He is looking to put together a better season in 2024 which happens to be the year the Penn State football team will face Wisconsin.

The last time these two teams played was the season opener in 2021. When the Nittany Lions went into Madison and beat Wisconsin 16-10. The game was sealed by a Ji’Ayir Brown late-game interception. The two will face off again on October 26th when the Nittany Lions return to Madison.
