Penn State football is coming off a 10-3 season and No. 13 final ranking for the 2023 season. The Nittany Lions have already been quite active this offseason with key coaching changes and transfer portal commitments. With the addition of USC, UCLA, Washington, and Oregon into the Big Ten for 2024, there will be more high-profile matchups each week inside Beaver Stadium. But some Penn State football season ticket holders will be feeling the new schedule in their wallets this upcoming season.

Penn State increases some NLC contributions for 2024 season

Penn State football ticket contribution will be increasing for certain sections for the 2024 season. Sections in the lower north end zone that previously had a contribution to the Nittany Lion Club (NLC) of $100 per seat in 2023 will now increase to $200 per seat for the 2024 season.

Impacted sections include the lower north end zone sections of NA to NL. It also will include sections EJ, EJU, and EHU on the home side of Beaver Stadium and WJ, WJU, and WHU on the visitors’ side.

The new pricing will not change in other sections of Beaver Stadium. This will put the lower north end zone sections in the same contribution bracket as the yellow sideline, which includes EGU-EFU and ECU-EDU on the home side, as well as WGU-WFU and WCU-WDU on the visitors’ side. Tickets in the south and north upper decks will still remain as $100 seat contributions for 2024.

The ticket prices themselves are decreasing by a small margin of $12 per ticket for the 2024 season.

A new era of Beaver Stadium

Penn State football has big plans ahead for the renovation of Beaver Stadium in the coming years. It will start with preparing the stadium for a potential home College Football Playoff game in 2024. The stadium will be winterized in case the Nittany Lions play host to a playoff game in December.

The bigger renovations will happen over the next few years, where the entire west side of the stadium will be rebuilt to add a new press box and suites. The concourse will also be updated to allow for a better flow of people for both concessions and restrooms.

Whether this contribution increase for selection sections for the 2024 season is just the beginning remains to be seen. But as college athletics continues to grow at an exponential rate, the cost of going to a Penn State football game will likely go right along with it.
