Earlier this week, long-time Penn State football commit Luke Reynolds, a member of the 2024 recruiting class, made an impressive jump in 247’s rankings. Previously an unranked three-star recruit, Reynolds now holds four-star status in the updated rankings and ranks among the nation’s top 100 prospects at No. 80. This significant leap earned him recognition as one of 247 Sports’ “biggest risers” in their latest rankings.
Luke Reynolds earning national attention
Today, 247 Sports released a list of the biggest risers in their newest recruiting rankings, and Luke Reynolds, the newly appointed four-star Penn State football commit, made the cut.
Initially committing to Penn State football with a relatively lower ranking compared to other recruits in the 2024 class of tight ends, Luke Reynolds has garnered widespread national attention through his remarkable performance, establishing himself as one of the top tight ends in his class.
After a thorough re-evaluation, Reynolds has made substantial progress and now finds himself among the top 100 recruits in his class, securing an impressive No. 80 ranking in the latest assessments. Additionally, he has earned recognition as the 6th best tight end in his class and has been acclaimed as the premier player in his state according to 247 rankings.
It is worth noting that three of Penn State’s commitments, namely Quinton Martin (PA), Donovan Harbour (WI), and Luke Reynolds (CT), have all been designated as the No. 1 player in their respective states, further solidifying the team’s exceptional recruitment efforts.
Pair of Penn State football commits earn bid to the Elite 11 finals
During the Elite 11 semifinals held last weekend in State College, PA, Luke Reynolds stood out and secured his place in the Elite 11 finals with an outstanding performance.
Joining Reynolds in the finals is Ethan Grunkemeyer, another underrated prospect who recently committed to the Nittany Lions. Grunkemeyer showcased his skills in State College and is expected to earn at least a fourth star by the time he signs next year.
