Florida State Insider predicts Penn State will land Michael Van Buren

A new prediction has come from a Florida State insider for Penn State to land a top-ranked 2024 quarterback.

Over the past few days, many 247 Sports insiders have been predicting the Nittany Lions to land one of the most sought-after quarterbacks in the 2024 recruiting class. On Thursday, A Florida State insider placed yet another prediction for Penn State football to land four-star quarterback Michael Van Buren.

Four-star quarterback Michael Van Buren favored to pick Penn State football

With his new crystal ball, Michael Van Buren now has four predictions total on 247 Sports — all of these picks are for Penn State football. From local insiders (Florida State and Oklahoma) to two of the biggest names in the recruiting game — Steve Wiltfong and Brian Dohn — it looks like the Penn State Nittany Lions have their quarterback for the 2024 recruiting class.

There is still some time left in his recruitment, so Michael Van Buren to Penn State is by no means a done deal, but according to every insider’s prediction thus far, the four-star 2024 QB prospect will end up in the Blue and White. Van Buren has an official visit coming up this summer and set his commitment date for early July.

Ratings and rankings for Penn State, Van Buren

Rankings vary regarding Michael Van Buren; some outlets list the 2024 quarterback as a four-star, while ESPN has him as a five-star. According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Van Buren is a four-star quarterback and is ranked as the No. 132 player in the class, the No. 11 quarterback, and the No. 3 player in the state of Maryland. His overall composite grade is 0.9405, meaning if he were to commit today, he would become the second-highest-rated player in Penn State’s 2024 class so far.

Penn State football now boasts a top 10 2024 recruiting class after a recent series of commitments went the Nittany Lions’ way. The class is ranked No. 8 in the composite rankings and No. 3 in the Big Ten; eight players are committed to Penn State right now: six four-stars and two three-stars. Heading into the Blue/White game tomorrow, we could be in for another significant day for Penn State football recruiting, seeing as many of James Franklin’s top targets will be in town for the game.
