Erik Gibson (174) is expected to become the latest Nittany Lion slated to leave State College. Reported by Pat Mineo on X, Gibson has entered the transfer portal on Friday.

Gibson has three years of eligibility left. He went 3-1 in open tournaments during the 2023-24 season with a tech fall and major decision victory. Gibson is notably the cousin of 2026 No. 1 overall recruit Bo Bassett, who recently committed to Iowa. Like Bassett, Gibson wrestled for powerhouse Bishop McCort in high school, placing third as a freshman and sixth as a sophomore at states.
