The Nittany Lions’ 2024 recruiting class recently moved into the top 10 nationally with a massive commitment. Last week, four-star athlete Quinton Martin — the No. 1 player in PA — committed to play football for Penn State. Here is why he chose PSU and what stands out about the school as a recruit.

Quinton Martin commits to Penn State

On Friday night, the Penn State recruiting class got much better by adding one of its top targets for the 2024 cycle. The Nittany Lions landed in-state athlete/running back Quinton Martin, who chose Penn State over schools like West Virginia, Ohio State, Pitt, and many more.

Martin is a unanimous four-star recruit and the unanimous No. 1 player in the state of Pennsylvania.

What makes PSU special?

Following his commitment, Quinton Martin had a chance to explain why he chose the Penn State Nittany Lions.

“What stood out the most, is probably their commitment to me,” Martin told Hayes Fawcett of On3. “From the moment their staff started recruiting me, they have done nothing but make me feel wanted, comfortable, and capable of anything I put my mind to … It’s always been my dream to play for [Penn State University], and I’m going to do everything in my power to bring a national championship to them.”

The addition of four-star athlete Quinton Martin shoots the 2024 Penn State football recruiting class up to No. 9 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten — the Nittany Lions still trail Michigan (2) and Ohio State (4); however, it is still early in the cycle, and Penn State will have plenty more chances at closing the gap.
