STATE COLLEGE, PA — It was an up-and-down year for Penn State hockey, but ultimately it was a season with plenty of success on the ice. As postseason award lists start to roll in, multiple Penn State Nittany Lions are getting recognized for their contributions to the team’s successful season

Several Nittany Lions Earn All-Big Ten Honors

United States College Hockey Online (USCHO), one of the major polls in college hockey, released its All-Big Ten list today. This list is created through votes from the conference’s coaches as well as a media panel.

Senior defenseman Paul DeNaples was named to the Sportsmanship Award list for his clean play on the ice while exemplifying qualities of leadership and sportsmanship as team captain.

In addition, two senior forwards – Kevin Wall and Connor MacEachern – were named to the All-Big Ten Honorable Mention list.

MacEachern was second on the team with 11 goals this season, three of which were game-winning scores for the Nittany Lions. He also had 13 assists and a +9 plus/minus rating on the season.

Kevin Wall came into the season with much hype and lived up to it. His team-high 16 goals moved him into ninth place on the all-time goal-scoring list in Penn State hockey history. He also added 13 assists, which gave him a team-leading 29 points on the season.

What is Next for Penn State Hockey?

These Nittany Lions will have at least one more game to add to their stellar season.

Penn State hockey will play in the NCCA Tournament Regionals, which run from March 24th through March 26th. The Nittany Lions are hosting at the regional site in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

They will find out their opponent and game time this Sunday during the NCAA Men’s Hockey Selection Show at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
