Yesterday, a major wide receiver popped up in the 2023 college football transfer portal. Jordan Hudson, a former top-ranked wide receiver recruit in the class of 2022, has entered the transfer portal after just one season with the TCU Horned Frogs. Hudson was the crown jewel of TCU’s 2022 class and had a solid true freshman season with the Frogs last year, helping lead his team to a 13-2 record and a national title game berth. Penn State football currently has a depth need at wide receiver, meaning Hudson could become a possible Penn State transfer portal target for the Nittany Lions ahead of summer ball.

Possible Penn State transfer portal target: former standout Big 12 wide receiver

With Drew Allar at quarterback this fall, Penn State football needs to get a few more targets for him to throw to. With the loss of Brenton Strange, Parker Washington, and Mitchell Tinsley — the Nittany Lions’ top-3 pass-catchers in 2022 — Penn State has an immediate need for more depth and talent at wideout right now.

Luckily for Penn State football, there is an excellent fit in the portal right now: former four-star wide receiver recruit Jordan Hudson of TCU. During his freshman year with TCU, Hudson caught 14 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns — he made two catches for 34 yards in TCU’s 51-45 playoff victory over the Michigan Wolverines on New Year’s Eve.

With wide receivers at a premium in State College right now, this 6-foot-1, 190-pound talented wideout with a year of College Football Playoff experience could become a major target for James Franklin and his staff during the second college football transfer portal window this spring.
