It may be early on, but the Penn State football recruiting class is coming together quite nicely thus far, with 13 hard commits and more in the works. The class has an overall rank of No. 6 according to 247 Sports and could end up contending with some of the nation’s best all said and done if James Franklin and his staff can continue adding top talent at a rapid pace as they have been. Recently, four-star EDGE Brian Robinson — a major four-star Ohio recruit — announced his first few official visits, and the Nittany Lions made the cut.
Major four-star Ohio recruit Brian Robinson locks in OV with Penn State football recruiting
Next month, Penn State football recruiting will be hosting one of the top recruits in the 2024 recruiting class: four-star Ohio recruit Brian Robinson, who is ranked as a consensus top-5 recruit in the state of Ohio. Penn State has been going after a number of top Ohio recruits as of late, and now, could have a shot at this top-ranked EDGE target. Unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, Robinson appears to be a Michigan lean right now; however, as all college recruiting fans know, anything can happen in summer and during official visits.
Robinson is an exceptional four-star recruit hailing from Austintown Fitch High School in Ohio, with a unanimous four-star rating from all four major recruiting outlets. His elite status is reflected in his impressive ranking, as per the 247 Sports composite rankings, where he is placed as the No. 125 recruit in his class, the No. 11 EDGE, and the No. 4 prospect in Ohio. On3’s Industry Rankings also acknowledge Robinson’s potential, placing him among the top five recruits in Ohio, while Rivals and ESPN rank him among the top 3-5 prospects in the state as well.
Apart from his remarkable talent, Robinson boasts a considerable frame, standing tall at 6-foot-5 and weighing close to 260 pounds, which gives him an edge on the field as he heads into his final high school football season. Robinson will be in Happy Valley from June 16th through June 18th next month for his official visit with Penn State.
