As the 2023 season begins to come to a close for the Penn State football team, recruiting begins to heat up. The Nittany Lions are preparing to sign a highly talented 2024 recruiting class in December. But most recently it has been the 2025 recruiting class that has picked up serious steam. Following the 2023 Whiteout game against Iowa, the Nittany Lions secured three recruits in the 2025 recruiting class. After this week’s news, it doesn’t sound like James Franklin is slowing down anytime soon. Pennsylvania’s very own Josh Williams has received a crystal ball to Penn State.
Penn State football receives crystal ball for top offensive lineman
The amount of highly talented offensive line recruits that Phil Trautwein has been able to land over the past few cycles is unreal. There are players such as Jven Williams, Anthony Dondoh, and Alex Birchmeier who haven’t even scratched the surface of their Penn State football careers. Then, in 2024 the Nittany Lions hold commitments from Cooper Cousins, Eager Boyer, Garrett Sexton, Donovan Harbour, and Caleb Brewer.
Now, the 2025 recruiting class is likely going to add a new addition to the offensive line recruits. On Wednesday, a crystal ball was placed by 247sports Director of Football Recruiting Steve Wiltfong for Josh Williams to land at Penn State with a confidence level of 6.
Who is Josh Williams?
Josh Williams is a three-star interior offensive lineman prospect in the 2025 recruiting class from Haverford, PA. He attends The Haverford School and holds offers from Boston College, Duke, Cal, Nebraska, and Penn State. Williams is currently listed as the No. 12 prospect in Pennsylvania and he was in State College unofficially visiting Penn State twice in September.
Williams just recently was ranked on 247sports, so the expectation is that he will have a significant ranking increase next summer with more tape, camp exposure, and additional scouting. He is listed at 6’4 200 pounds and is a prospect Penn State fans need to keep an eye on in the months ahead.
