Last Saturday, Penn State took the field for the first time in over four months for the program’s annual Blue/White spring game. There, over 63,000 fans packed into Beaver Stadium to get their first look at quarterback Drew Allar and other Penn State football standouts ahead of summer camp and the fall opener. Despite all of the fanfare and joy for the spring game, no one was more excited to be back inside the Nittany Lions’ iconic stadium than rising sophomore QB Drew Allar, who emphasized his incredible experience after the game.

Beaver Stadium is a special place for Drew Allar

Beaver Stadium is one of the world’s largest and most iconic sports venues and is the proud home of Penn State football. For rising sophomore Drew Allar — who will likely become Penn State’s full-time starting quarterback to open the season this September — there is no place on earth quite like the Nittany Lions’ home field.

“I would just say [my] excitement came from being in beaver Stadium, there’s nothing like this in college football,” Drew Allar told reporters following the Blue/White game last weekend. “Obviously we had a really good turnout; it’s crazy the turnout [we had] just because of the weather the whole day leading up to the game. Shoutout to all of the fans that made it into the game, and the tailgating; obviously we really appreciate that as players and the staff.

“It shows how much [the fans] are truly invested in us and we couldn’t do it without them,” Allar continued. “I think overall it was just getting back into Beaver Stadium and player in front of however many fans were there.”

For Drew Allar, like many fans, Beaver Stadium is a special venue. This fall, Allar and his offense will look to put on an even better show for Nittany Lion fans as Penn State football chases its first Big Ten Championship since 2016 following its Rose Bowl-winning season in 2022.
