In Penn State’s victory over West Virginia, some might believe that the offensive line has work to do. That might be true, but one player continues to shine with each rep he takes. The Penn State football team was pleased that Olu Fashanu would return for the 2023 season. On Saturday night he showed the country again why he is a top NFL draft prospect.
Olu Fashanu dominated the West Virginia defensive line
It’s no surprise anymore when you see Olu Fashanu put on a clinic for each rep he takes. This is a player who has yet to allow a sack in college. That impressive statistic streak continued Saturday night. Fashanu played in 31 pass-blocking reps against West Virginia. He allowed 0 pressures, QB hits, or sacks on Saturday night.
He is arguably the best offensive line prospect in college football and continues to back that up with his play on the field. The offensive line had its issues during the West Virginia game, but none of those issues were due to Olu Fashanu.
Fashanu says the offensive line has ‘a lot of expectations’ in 2023
As the 2023 season is officially underway, Olu Fashanu was able to share his thoughts on the entire offensive line unit this summer. In our exclusive interview with Fashanu, he raved about the entire unit. He said, “Going into this year, we know we have a lot of expectations on our back, but at the end of the day, no one has bigger expectations for the season than ourselves.”
Penn State football will look for their offensive line to continue to make progress against Deleware before starting conference play at Illinois.
