Editor’s note: This is not a political endorsement, we are merely reporting Penn State basketball news.

The 2022-23 college basketball season has been kind (thus far) to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Under second-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry, the Nittany Lions are headed to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2011 — Penn State boats a 22-13 record after picking up three additional wins in last week’s Big Ten tournament, where the Lions fell just short against 1-seed Purdue in the title game.

Former US President picks Penn State basketball over Texas A&M

Without bringing politics into anything, it’s cool to see the Penn State basketball team get a little love on a national scale. On Wednesday, former US predident Barack Obama released his 2023 March Madness bracket picks — in round one of the NCAA tournament, the 44th president of the United States has the Nittany Lions pulling off the upset of TAMU.

Texas A&M is a team that many people feel was under-seeded in this year’s tournament. The Aggies boast an impressive 25-9 record this season, and come into Thursday’s matchup as three-point favorites over the underdog Penn State Nittany Lions. For Penn State basketball, being the underdog is nothing new; in fact, this entire season has been an underdog year for PSU hoops.

Still, the 44th president believes in Penn State, Micah Shrewsberry believes in Penn State, and frankly, we believe in Penn State too. the Lions’ tournament matchup with Texas A&M is set to tip off at 9:55 PM (EST) at the Wells-Fargo Center in Des Moines, IA.
