Boom! Penn State football recruiting has finally landed a 2024 quarterback commitment after months of hard work on the recruiting trail. While it isn’t Michael Van Buren as most fans had hoped, the Nittany Lions locked down a solid target with tons of upside and potential.
Penn State football recruiting lands 2024 quarterback commitment
Ethan Grunkemeyer has the potential to bring success to head coach James Franklin and his team; standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, he has a solid athletic build. Additionally, despite his current lower-ranking, analysts may increase their opinion of the three-star QB during his final high school football season as the recruiting class is re-evaluated.
Two respected recruiting insiders, Steve Wiltfong and Brian Dohn, had predicted that Ethan Grunkemeyer would commit to Penn State football. Another insider, Dylan Callaghan-Croley, also made a prediction in favor of Penn State landing the 2024 Ohio quarterback prospect yesterday evening. Today, these predictions came true as the Nittany Lions locked down their 2024 quarterback commitment.
While some Penn State fans may have preferred another quarterback, such as Michael Van Buren who is likely to choose Oregon, Grunkemeyer will still be a valuable addition to the 2024 class and fulfill the team’s need for a QB recruit. Michigan and Ohio State have already addressed this need in their own recruiting efforts, making this new 2024 quarterback commitment much more valuable for Penn State football. Grunkemeyer has the potential to develop into a solid quarterback during his time in State College, and is already thought to be one of the more underrated talents in the nation.
According to ON3’s rankings, Penn State’s newest commit is the No. 23 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 13 recruit in the state of Ohio.
