There are two important components whenever a school is recruiting an offensive lineman. First, the size of the player, his height and weight, of course, play a big role. But another attribute is strength and being able to move opposing players out of the way. If there’s any player who checks both boxes in the 2026 recruiting class it’s Kevin Brown. Currently, Brown ranks as the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania and is a priority Penn State football target. He will also be a new teammate this fall with Nittany Lion running back commit Messiah Mickens.

Kevin Brown is listed as an interior offensive lineman according to On3. Standing at 6-5 260 pounds, Brown is one of the more dominant players on the offensive line in high school football. The four-star Harrisburg, PA native ranks as the No. 3 IOL, the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania, and he is a top 30 prospect nationally in the 2026 recruiting class.

While Brown ranks high and has the tape to back it up, he showed a different side of himself on Friday. He posted a video on Twitter/X showing him squatting 545 pounds twice. Unbelievable strength for someone who is entering his junior year of high school this fall.

While Brown remains uncommitted, the Nittany Lions lead the way according to On3. The Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Penn State a 60% chance to land Brown. He has made seven visits to Happy Valley, while he has made visits to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and other schools just once during his recruitment.

Brown teams up with Messiah Mickens

Starting this fall, Kevin Brown will be opening holes on the offensive line for Messiah Mickens at Harrisburg. The offers continue to pour in for one of the top running backs in the 2026 cycle. However, Mickens recently returned to visit the Penn State football team last weekend.

He showed support for Kevin Brown’s progress on social media on Friday. Mickens transferred to Harrisburg at the beginning of 2024 after his career started at Trinity High School in Camp Hill, PA. Mickens was coached by former Penn State DL Jordan Hill who recently resigned as the school’s head coach. He was also coached by ex-linebacker Mike Mauti who was announced as a new staff member for the Nittany Lions in a fundraising role.

Now, Mickens and Brown will share the same field as teammates at Harrisburg in 2024.
