The Spring period is exciting for every college football program around the country. Each team gets a chance to evaluate where their program is from a current roster and future state. Penn State football is continuing to stack talent in the 2025 recruiting class, but the Nittany Lions are also focused on future recruiting classes, as well. Now, James Franklin and the coaching staff have the opportunity to build a new relationship in the 2026 recruiting class, as they are set to host QB Brady Hart for the first time later this month.

2026 QB set to complete his first Penn State football visit

Brady Hart led Cocoa High School to a state championship during his first year as a starter. The Cocoa, FL native threw for 1,024 yards and 10 touchdowns against four interceptions. He also completed 71% of his passes last season. Hart is currently unranked in the 2026 recruiting class by On3, Rivals, ESPN, and 247Sports, but that doesn’t mean the talent isn’t there.

Hart stands 6 for 4 185 pounds and has picked up recent offers from Ole Miss, Purdue, Miami, and Notre Dame. This is a prospect that Penn State football has been interested in for a while. The Nittany Lions made an offer in September of last year.

According to Chad Simmons of On3, Brady Hart will visit Penn State on March 14. This unofficial visit will be his first opportunity to be in Happy Valley. Brady Hart is the son of Alex Hart, who was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fifth round of the 2002 MLB Draft. Originally from Chambersburg, Alex Hart pitched collegiately at Florida before spending three years in the Pirates’ farm system.

Future Penn State QBs

It all comes down to what Drew Allar can do on the field in 2024. The Penn State QB is a dream NFL prospect; however, he has not played at a consistently high level. But if Allar shows consistency this fall, it will be hard for him to pass up going to the NFL after this season.

Behind Allar is Beau Pribula, who will likely have an expanded role this season. Jaxon Smolik and Ethan Grunkemeyer will fill out the quarterback room for this season.

After that, the Nittany Lions have 2025 commit Bekkem Kritza set to arrive next year. Penn State football is also a finalist for Matt Zollers in 2025, as well. If Allar does leave after this season, the Nittany Lions will be positioned for future success due to their recruiting efforts.
