Penn State football may have missed out on the No. 1 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class Matt Zollers. But that has not stopped him from sharing the field with current Nittany Lion quarterback Beau Pribula. Both players united on the field for a workout in a post by Aurum Sports, an NIL talent agency that represents both players.
Matt Zollers was one of the most difficult losses in the momentum on the recruiting trail. The four-star talent from Royersford is regarded as the No. 1 quarterback in the Keystone State in the 2025 recruiting class. According to On3, Zollers is the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania, and the No. 2 QB in the cycle (No. 13 prospect nationally).
He made his commitment to Missouri on April 4, which came as a bit of a surprise to Penn State football fans. Zollers took seven visits to Happy Valley during his recruitment but decided to take his talents to the SEC.
While the Nittany Lions coaching staff has returned to Zollers’ Spring-Ford Area High School since his commitment to Missouri, the first member of the Penn State football program to be seen publicly with the 2025 recruit knows what it’s like to be the No. 1 quarterback in Pennsylvania.
Zollers was recently seen on the field with current Penn State quarterback Beau Pribula for a workout. Pribula from York enters his redshirt sophomore season in 2024, where he will serve as the backup to Drew Allar. In the 2022 cycle, Pribula was the top in-state quarterback and the No. 13 prospect overall per the On3 Industry Rankings.
The two gunslingers connected on the field for an NIL workout for Aurum Sports, which was posted on Instagram on Monday. Aurum represents Pribula and Zollers as a talent agency for college football and NFL players.

While letting the No. 1 quarterback slip out of your state is never easy, what has made the miss on Zollers less frustrating is the recent move the Nittany Lions made in the 2026 recruiting class. On June 25, Troy Huhn from San Marcos (California) committed to play for the Penn State football team.
According to On3, Huhn is the No. 6 quarterback in the 2026 class. He ranks as the No. 6 player in California and is a top-60 prospect in the country. The Nittany Lions will also be represented by QB Bekkem Kritza in the 2025 cycle who recently shined at a camp this past weekend. Instead of letting the impact of one decision snowball, Penn State has been able to bounce back in a big way in June with the addition of nine recruits.
