One of the most veteran offensive linemen for Penn State football is off to the NFL. Redshirt senior OL Caedan Wallace announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft on Saturday. The news comes as the Nittany Lions begin preparations for the Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 30. Although he is moving on from Happy Valley, the veteran OL will still suit up for Penn State when it takes on Ole Miss in two weeks.
Penn State OL Caedan Wallace declares for NFL Draft, will play in Peach Bowl
On Saturday afternoon, Penn State RT Caedan Wallace announced that he was entering the NFL Draft. Wallace thanked the Nittany Lions coaches, staff, and fans in a message on social media.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Coach Franklin, Coach Trautwein, and the entire support staff who have been by my side throughout this journey,” Wallace wrote. “Your guidance and support have been instrumental in my growth as both an athlete and an individual.”
“After much consideration, I have made the decision to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft following our upcoming competition in the 2023 Peach Bowl,” he continued. “This decision comes with a mix of excitement and nostalgia as I leave behind the memories of Happy Valley, the 107,000 passionate fans, and the unique spirit that defines this community.”
Caedan Wallace appeared in 46 games and made 39 starts during his Penn State football career. An All-Big Ten honorable mention, Wallace allowed just one sack on 346 pass plays this season. The redshirt senior still had a year of COVID eligibility to use, but has decided instead to move on.
Wallace becomes the fourth Nittany Lion to declare for the NFL Draft, and the second on offense after Theo Johnson. Decisions from other key members of the Penn State offensive line, such as Olu Fashanu and Sal Wormley, are still unknown.
