Most, if not all, Pennsylvania residents have stepped into a Weis Market at some point, which means many Penn State football fans will be quite familiar with the Nittany Lions’ latest NIL partner. This week, two Penn State standouts — Tyler Elsdon and Nick Dawkins — were featured in a new commercial for Weis, marking the latest NIL news in Happy Valley.

When it comes to competing nationally in NIL, Penn State football is fighting an uphill battle, especially against programs like Michigan, Ohio State, and more. Still, the Nittany Lions appear to be doing well for themselves right now, and it’s certain that further success on the field should only bolster their current effort in both NIL and recruiting.

Tuesday, a pair of Penn State football standouts were featured in the latest NIL-based commercial, this time with Weis Market. Tyler Elsdon, a linebacker, and Nick Dawkins, a center, are seen showing Penn State fans how to make a new recipe: honey garlic salmon. “Salmon is one of my go-to’s when I am meal prepping for the week,” Elsdon explained in the video, which has been posted on Weis’s YouTube channel. “… It’s just one of those (meals) that, as a football player, it’s really important.”

The full video, which is linked above, spans nearly eight minutes as the Penn State football duo cooks their way back onto the NIL scene. With the 2024 season upon us, seeing more NIL moves from the Nittany Lions is just one more reason to be excited about what the program’s future may have in store.
