Penn State defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton (33) sacks Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy in the first half of an NCAA football game at Beaver Stadium Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, in State College, Pa.

The Penn State football team has been able to produce NFL-caliber defensive ends year after year. Most recently, the Nittany Lions have put Chop Robinson (first-round pick to Miami) and Adisa Isaac (third-round pick to Baltimore). Up next for Penn State will be Abdul Carter and Dani Dennis-Sutton who have the chance to be the best pass-rush duo in the country this fall.

Almost six months ago, Abdul Carter had his position changed on the official Penn State football roster from linebacker to defensive end. Since then he has been training to be one of the best pass rushers in the country. Something he has already proven to do well collecting 11 sacks in two seasons with the Nittany Lions.

PFF College posed the question on Twitter/ X on Sunday.” Does Penn State have the best pass-rush duo in the country?” The image of course showed both Abdul Carter and Dani Dennis-Sutton.

During the Blue-White Game this past April, Chop Robinson shared advice with Carter.

Chop [Robinson], we always had a back and forth about competing about who was the better pass rusher. Who has a better get off the ball, so we like to chop it up there. But he was just telling me to stay focused. Don’t just go out there and play for you but also try to make others better around you.”

Dani Dennis-Sutton was a five-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He has appeared in all 26 games in his Penn State football career, however, he has only made three starts. All three starts came during the 2023 season.

He spent time behind both Chop Robinson and Adisa Isaac over the past two seasons, but in 2024 it’s his turn to be the guy alongside Abdul Carter.

In his Nittany Lion career, he has accounted for 43 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. He and Carter look to make some noise in the Tom Allen-led defense in 2024. The campaign will kick off on August 31 in Morgantown against West Virginia.
