Change is scary to some; to others who embrace it, the experience can be a big positive. The entire Penn State football team is going through large changes this offseason. New coordinators with all three phases of the game, new teammates arriving from high school or the transfer portal, and everyone looking to improve from the 2023 season. One of the biggest changes of the offseason was the addition of former Kansas Jayhawk offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. Drew Allar and the rest of his teammates have started to learn a new system, and Allar has recently opened up about the experience.

Drew Allar had a great season as a first-year starter. He took care of the football and made some nice plays along the way. The only blemish on his young career is his performance in the biggest games. Unfortunately, he did not perform well against Ohio State, Michigan, and Ole Miss last season.

But with a whole offseason to learn a new system and a new coordinator in the building, there is optimism buzzing around the locker room. Drew Allar recently spoke to 247Sports about his thoughts on Andy Kotelnicki.

Allar told 247Sports, “It’s been a really fun process,” Allar said. “Receivers, tight ends, running backs, quarterbacks have already started getting our work in on the field with routes and stuff. I’m really excited to dive more into the offense with Coach K and the staff.”

Blue-White start time announced

The first time we will get to see this new style of offense is during the 2024 Blue-White game. Penn State football has announced the game will take place on April 13th at 2 pm EST.

The Nittany Lion faithful will get to see new transfer portal additions such as Julian Fleming, AJ Harris, Nolan Rucci, and many of the 2024 recruiting class stars.
