While official visits are well underway, uncommitted players are starting to make decisions. Players who have official visits scheduled for the back half of June might not make their last few visits as they’ve made a decision. Penn State football was slated to host one of the top offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class on June 14 in Ziyare Addison. However, he made a pledge to Oregon on Monday that will likely alter his plans to visit the Nittany Lions.

Ziyare Addison is one of the more physically college-ready prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. Standing at 6-5 296 pounds, the four-star prospect was considering Penn State football during his recruitment. Addison made two trips to Happy Valley in February and March, respectively.

Originally, he was slated to take a third visit this upcoming weekend to Penn State. This would have served as his official visit. But on Monday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 announced that Addison has committed to one of the newest members of the Big Ten, Oregon. From Tampa, Florida, Addison ranks as a top-15 offensive tackle prospect in the 2025 cycle.

It wasn’t all bad news for the Penn State football community on Monday. Around noon, the Nittany Lions received a surprise commitment in the 2025 recruiting class. Cornerback Daryus Dixon made his pledge to commit to Penn State following his official visit last weekend.

Dixon is an elite cornerback prospect who ranks as a four-star recruit and is a top-15 cornerback in the 2025 cycle. From Santa Ana, California, Dixon attends high school powerhouse Mater Dei High School, where Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft Bryce Young went to school.
