Aaron Scott Jr. is among the top targets for several of the Big Ten’s best football programs. Today, Scott announced his five finalists for his commitment, with Penn State football making the cut alongside other top-tier teams such as Michigan and Ohio State. Currently, it seems that Scott is leaning towards choosing the Buckeyes, although no decision has been made yet, and the Nittany Lions still have a chance.

Ahead of the official visit season, Penn State football currently holds the No. 7 recruiting class in the nation, with an impressive count of 14 committed players. Furthermore, the Nittany Lions are on track to secure several new commitments over the summer, potentially elevating their class ranking to the top 5.

Today, one of the highly sought-after recruits on James Franklin’s radar, four-star cornerback Aaron Scott from Ohio, revealed his five finalists, and Penn State football made the cut. The remaining four teams, aside from Penn State, in contention are the Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines, Oregon Ducks, and Tennessee Volunteers. According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes are heavily favored to secure this talented prospect from Ohio.

In his announcement, Scott highlighted the standout aspects of Penn State football that caught his attention. “They are really developing players,” he told Hayes Fawcett.

The level of Penn State football’s competitiveness in securing Aaron Scott remains uncertain. However, if, against the odds, the Nittany Lions managed to recruit this highly-ranked talent away from Ryan Day’s Ohio State, it would undoubtedly be regarded as one of the most significant recruiting victories during the James Franklin era in Happy Valley.
