The Blue/White game was held at Beaver Stadium on Saturday afternoon, though fans’ attention was quickly shifted from the Blue team’s 10-0 victory to the Nittany Lions’ recruiting. Following the spring game, Penn State football received some major recruiting news, including a huge in-state commitment from 2024 lineman Caleb Brewer. Brewer — who is ranked as a top 10 player in the state of Pennsylvania — became Penn State’s 9th commit in the class, which has since shot up from No. 10 to No. 6 in the 247 Sports recruiting team rankings.

Penn State football needed a few new offensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting class, and the addition of Caleb Brewer could be precisely what James Franklin was looking for. Brewer is rated as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports and is ranked as one of the top players in Pennsylvania. He is listed as the No. 44 interior offensive lineman and the No. 8 player in Pennsylvania — of Penn State’s nine commits, five are in-state recruits.

“Penn State is a great college,” Brewer told On3. “I really like [offensive line coach Phil Trautwein], he seems like a great coach that I would like to get coached by. He talked to me throughout the day and was telling me that he thinks I would be a great player there.”

Brewer, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive lineman from Reading, PA, is Penn State’s ninth overall commit and third three-star commit in the 2024 recruiting class. Additionally, according to many recruiting experts, Caleb Brewer may turn out to be the first in a series of massive commitments for the Penn State football team following the Blue/White game on Saturday.
