STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — On Monday night, James Franklin added to his top 10 2024 recruiting class. The newest Penn State football commitment is from Antoine Belgrave-Shorter, a three-star defensive back from Florida.

Penn State football lands Antoine Belgrave-Shorter in 2024 recruiting class

To finish the first full week of April, the Nittany Lions landed Quinton Martin, the top-ranked player in the 2024 recruiting class and one of the most sought-after recruits in the region. Now, to kick off the following week, Penn State football has landed another one of its top skill targets; this time, the Nittany Lions grabbed themselves a new defensive back.

Antoine Belgrave-Shorter — who is rated as a three-star cornerback by 247 Sports and On3 — is now a Nittany Lion. Heading into this week, Penn State’s class was ranked 9th in the nation and 3rd in the Big Ten (behind Michigan and Ohio State), and with this new commitment, the class will likely continue to rise throughout the spring. For the time being, the Nittany Lions’ class is down to 10th nationally.

New cornerback commits to Penn State

Antoine Belgrave-Shorter, a three-star defensive back in the 2024 class, is the newest Penn State football commitment and joins a now-lengthy list of 2024 defenders to land in the Blue and White. Belgrave-Shorter is Penn State’s 8th commit in the class and the second cornerback for the Nittany Lions — 247 Sports ranks the new Penn State football commit as the No. 48 cornerback in the class and the No. 74 player in the state of Florida.

As we head into the Blue-White game this weekend, the Nittany Lions are starting to get red hot on the 2024 recruiting trail, and this evening’s commitment should only continue to bolster momentum.
