The 2024 recruiting class for Penn State football is filled with talented athletes on the offensive side of the ball. The Nittany Lions and running back coach Ja’Juan Seider will rely on the No. 1 ranked player in Pennsylvania ATH Quinton Martin to create some explosive plays with the ball in his hands. As it appears that Martin will play running back at Penn State, his counterpart will be equally as important to the 2024 recruiting class. This is four-star RB Corey Smith out of Catholic Memorial High School in Wisconsin.

2024 Penn State Football 4-Star RB Corey Smith has next-level speed

Corey Smith and Quinton Martin are in a position to be the next two-headed monster in the backfield for Penn State when their time comes. Much like current PSU running backs Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, these two will complement each other well.

Corey Smith recently had his game speed verified with VVN Sports an organization that uses Reel Analytics to verify an athlete’s speed using AI. Through this verification process, VVN Sports recorded the Penn State RB commit as the fastest in-game athlete in the country clocking in at 22.8MPH.

Corey Smith was on campus at the end of June where he ran an impressive 40-yard dash, Smith commented “4.46” after the video was posted on social media by Tyler Donohue. Not only have the Nittany Lions found a stud running back, but he happens to have the speed to take the top off of opposing Big Ten defenses in the future.

Running Back Coach Ja’Juan Seider has a way of recruiting

Coach Seider has been a staple within the Penn State football program. Not only has he been leading a running back room that has produced Saquon Barkley, Miles Sanders, Journey Brown, Noah Cain, and now Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, but he also has a special connection from a recruiting standpoint. Ja’Juan Seider has many connections in Florida that help with adding some of the top Nittany Lion prospects each year.

Now, as we look to the future with the 2024 class having Quinton Martin and Corey Smith, then, in 2025 Penn State has KiAndrea Barker committed at running back, it sure feels like Ja’Juan Seider is a special coach that Penn State cannot afford to lose any time soon.
