For the third consecutive year, Penn State wrestling sits atop the Big Ten. The Nittany Lions captured the 2025 Big Ten Championship with a dominant showing at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Illinois, on Sunday.

Penn State finished with a team total 181.5 points, 44.5 ahead of second-place Nebraska. Of six Nittany Lions wrestling for individual titles, five – Luke Lilledahl, Tyler Kasak, Mitchell Mesenbrink, Levi Haines, and Carter Starocci – will bring new hardware back to State College. Beau Bartlett and Shayne Van Ness won their third place matches as well.

The title is the ninth time Penn State wrestling has won the Big Ten Championships under Cael Sanderson. It’s also the second time the Nittany Lions have three-peated as conference champions in Sanderson’s tenure. Penn State has now won 39 conference tournament titles in program history.

Sanderson and Penn State next shift their focus to Philadelphia and the NCAA Championships in two weeks. All 10 Nittany Lion wrestlers had qualified for the national tournament by the end of Saturday night’s competition.
