It’s all hands on deck in Happy Valley as Penn State wrestling awaits a decision from one of the nation’s most coveted high school prospects. Former Penn State football and current Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons is pitching in on a final push for top 2026 recruit Bo Bassett as the Bishop McCort standout prepares to make a commitment decision.

On Sunday, Bassett announced via social media that he will announce his commitment Monday morning on FloWrestling Radio Live. As the news quickly spread, Parsons jumped in to make his case as a former Nittany Lion athlete and an avid Penn State wrestling fan.

“After seeing Penn [State’s] domination, it can’t be any other choice!” Parsons wrote on X. “We have the best environment and wrestling room in the country! That’s facts! Come join the greatest legacy ever created!”

After starting his recruitment considering 80 programs, Bo Bassett narrowed his options to seven in mid-January. Penn State wrestling is one of five Big Ten schools still in the running, joining Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, and Rutgers. Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech are the other teams under consideration.

“When I narrowed it down to the final seven, I feel I couldn’t make a bad choice,” Bassett wrote in his announcement on Sunday.

Bassett is the No. 1 wrestler on FloWrestling’s class of 2026 big board. The Bishop McCort standout is one of several wrestlers from the Johnstown-area school being recruited by Cael Sanderson and the Nittany Lions. Sam Herring kicked off the 2026 cycle for Penn State wrestling with a commitment in November. Jax Forrest, the No. 2 wrestler in the class, is also a top target for the Blue and White.

FloWrestling Radio Live will stream the commitment at 11 a.m. on Monday morning.
