For the second time in the 2024 winter window, Penn State football has lost a wide receiver to the transfer portal.

On Friday, On3’s transfer portal tracker reported that Nittany Lions backup wide receiver Jason Estrella had entered the portal. A redshirt junior, Estrella appeared in two games during the 2023 season, but did not see the field this fall.

Unranked as a high school recruit, Estrella put up 200 receiving yards and a score on offense while recording 75 tackles and three interceptions on defense during his senior season at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. On3 rates the 6-2, 193-pound Tallahassee, Florida, native as a three-star prospect in its transfer portal rankings.

So far, James Franklin and the Nittany Lions have lost five members of the 2024 Penn State football roster to the portal while adding three transfers.
