Penn State football will remain in the top five of the AP Poll for consecutive weeks, holding firm with its No. 4 ranking after manhandling Purdue 49-10 on Saturday afternoon.

After a relatively quiet weekend across the country, the Nittany Lions had no real opportunity to move in the top five. No. 1 Oregon and No. 3 Texas were pushed late into the fourth quarter of their contests on Saturday, but both emerged with victories.

Previously undefeated BYU suffered its first loss of the year to 4-6 Kansas. The outcome could significantly impact the College Football Playoff chase but will have little effect on Penn State’s ranking in the AP Poll.

Penn State football delivered an offensive explosion against the 1-9 Boilermakers, racking up 539 yards and putting six different Nittany Lions in the end zone.

Star tight end Tyler Warren again led the way, posting team highs with 127 receiving yards, 63 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.
