The 2024 recruiting class, for the most part, is wholistically on campus for the Penn State football team. One of the biggest additions to the team is QB Ethan Grunkemeyer, who could very well be the future of the Nittany Lions. He and Drew Allar held ties before Grunkemeyer committed to Penn State. They both share the same QB trainer in Brad Maendler. On Saturday, the three were hosting a throwing session in the Penn State football facility.

Brad Maendler is one of the biggest keys in Drew Allar’s growth on the field. He helped transform his throwing motion which led him to become the No. 1 QB in the 2022 recruiting class. He is someone that James Franklin trusts as he has now helped develop Ethan Grunkemeyer.

Allar and Grunkemeyer were putting work in with the Penn State football wide receivers and tight ends on Saturday. What jumps out in the clip below is the zip on Grunkemeyer’s passes. Allar continues to make these throws look effortless while Grunkemeyer shows off his quick release.

Reasons for excitement during the Blue-White game

The big reason why it’s worth going to the Blue-White game this Spring is to see this new offensive system led by Andy Kotelnicki. In general, you’d imagine this will look different than it has in years past. But on top of that, hopefully, we will get to see Jaxon Smolik and Ethan Grunkemeyer a good amount.

Smolik was lighting up fall camp but did not see any playing time last season. It will also be good to see Grunkemeyer take his first reps in the Nittany Lion uniform. The 2024 Blue White game will take place on April 13th at 2 pm.
