Former Nittany Lions wide receiver Trey Wallace is looking for a fresh start in his final season of eligibility. One day after his departure from the Penn State football program became public, Wallace already has a series of visits lined up out of the transfer portal.

According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Wallace is planning to visit Louisville and North Carolina out of the ACC, as well as South Carolina and Texas A&M in the SEC.

The list brings some interesting names from the coaching ranks into the fold for Wallace’s recruitment, perhaps most notably six-time Super Bowl Champion and new Tar Heels head coach Bill Belichick. Cardinals coach Jeff Brohm will have some familiarity with Wallace from his days at Purdue. James Franklin has clashed with Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks several times in recent recruiting cycles, most recently for top 2025 in-state receiver Lex Cyrus.

“To my coaches and teammates, thank you for challenging me, supporting me, and becoming family,” Wallace wrote in a statement released on Wednesday upon officially entering the portal. “To my mentors, thank you for guiding me and inspiring me to dream bigger. And to the amazing community that makes Penn State so special, thank you for showing me what it truly means to be a part of something greater than myself.

“While I’m entering the transfer portal and embarking on a new chapter, Penn State will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

Harrison Wallace III led all Penn State wide receivers with 46 catches for 720 yards and four touchdowns this fall. He finishes his Nittany Lion career with 1,221 yards and six scores over 39 games played.
