Penn State football returns to the field on Tuesday with the start of spring practice. The Nittany Lions also returned to the recruiting trail, picking up the program’s first 2026 commitment in two months. This time, it was four-star Imani Christian Academy (PA) defensive back/running back David Davis who pledged to the Blue and White.

“After conversations with my family and coaches, I’m excited to announce that I’m 1,000% committed to Penn State University,” Davis wrote on X.

Davis is former high school teammates with true freshman linebacker Dayshaun Burnett, who early enrolled this winter. A two-way player, Davis is ranked as the No. 19 athlete and the No. 9 prospect in Pennsylvania in the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2026 recruiting cycle. He picked the Nittany Lions over Pitt, West Virginia, and Michigan State, among others.

Penn State football now has commitments from four of the top 10 in-state recruits for 2026. The Nittany Lions have nine pledges overall for the cycle. Prior to Davis’s announcement, Penn State had the No. 8 class nationally, according to On3.
