The Penn State football coaching staff has been on fire as of late recruiting in the 2026 recruiting class. A class that held one commitment (Messiah Mickens) for several months now has five verbal commitments. One of those commitments was made this past Saturday when wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers announced that he would be playing for the Nittany Lions. Following his pledge he explained why it felt right to be in Happy Valley.

Jahsiear Rogers is a 5-10 170 pound wide receiver prospect from Bear (Delaware). He held offers from schools such as James Madison and Indiana but ultimately decided to commit to the Penn State football team. His announcement came after a recent visit this past weekend for the annual Lasch Bash.

Now that Rogers has joined the 2026 recruiting class for Penn State, he has opened up to Ryan Snyder of Blue White Illustrated on why Penn State felt like the right choice.

“I felt like it was the right thing and my family felt like it was the right thing from day one. We connected and made a bond from day one. They’ve been talking to me every single day. They literally never missed a day.”

When Jahsiear Rogers committed to Penn State, he was technically an unranked prospect. But after he made his announcement, On3 updated his profile and ranked him as the No. 1 player in Delaware and the No. 55 wide receiver nationally.

Meanwhile, Roger has also received his initial ranking on 247Sports as well. There he is also regarded as the No. 1 player in the state and the No. 71 wide receiver in the country. What his profile doesn’t tell is his reported 4.3 speed that he has displayed at various camps. Now, QB Troy Huhn has a speedy wide receiver to target.

According to On3, the Penn State football team holds the No. 2 recruiting class in the country in the 2026 cycle.
