The Penn State football team continues to make a push at the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. One of those top prospects happens to also be a Penn State legacy player, Michael Carroll, a prospect that the Nittany Lions have been in pursuit of during his entire recruiting process. As Michael gets closer to his decision, Penn State recently extended an offer to his brother, Liam Carroll, in the 2027 recruiting class.

Penn State football offers a scholarship to a new legacy target

Michael Carroll is listed as the No. 2 recruit in Pennsylvania and the 2nd overall interior offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class, according to On3. He also is the 27 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class. He checks all of the boxes to be a priority for the Nittany Lions. Not only is he from Doylestown, PA., but his father, Michael Carroll Sr., played linebacker for Joe Paterno in the late 1990s, making him a legacy target.

With boxes checked being a Pennsylvania native and a legacy target, Carroll is also one of the top prospects in the country. As a result, the Central Bucks East product has been labeled as a “must-get” prospect by head coach James Franklin.

Now, as he gets set to make his college decision in the upcoming months, Carroll announced that his brother, Liam Carroll, has been offered a full scholarship by the Penn State football team. Liam is a 2027 wide receiver prospect who, of course, is currently teammates with his brother Michael at Central Bucks East. He doesn’t hold a ranking ranking on any major recruiting site yet.

When will Carroll return to Happy Valley?

Michael Carroll has a slate of official visits to take this summer. Each school making a final push for the talented offensive lineman. He will start with a visit to Athens to take his official with the Georgia Bulldogs on May 31. Then, he will head to Tuscaloosa to officially visit Alabama on June 7.

Following his Alabama visit he will head back to Happy Valley on June 14 for his official visit with Penn State. Finally, he will head to Ann Arbor to visit Michigan on June 21. A busy couple of weeks are coming for Carroll with his commitment decision looming in the new future.
