With official visit season now underway, Penn State football hopes to use the critical month of on-campus recruiting to bolster the ranks of its 2025 class. But one week into June, the Nittany Lions have already seen two of their visitors go off the board to Dabo Swinney. In back-to-back days this week, Clemson earned commitments from cornerback Graceson Littleton and offensive lineman Rowan Byrne, who both chose the Tigers after one visit despite multiple trips to Happy Valley.

Clemson lands two Penn State football targets in one week

It’s been a good week on the 2025 recruiting trail for Dabo Swinney, landing Graceson Littleton and Rowan Byrne on consecutive days. Both picked Clemson after only one visit, despite visiting Penn State football and other programs multiple times.

A four-star from Tampa, Graceson Littleton is the No. 12 cornerback and the 18th-best prospect in Florida for the 2025 cycle per On3. Littleson took his official visit to Penn State last weekend after first traveling to Happy Valley in April. However, a trip to Clemson quickly came on its heels Monday, with a commitment following Wednesday.

“When you know, you know,” Littleton told Hayes Fawcett of On3. Littleton chose the Tigers over the Nittany Lions, Alabama, and Oklahoma.

The following day, New York offensive lineman Rowan Byrne joined the Tiger’s 2025 recruiting class. On3’s No.6 prospect out of the state, Byrne committed to Clemson after his first and only visit over the weekend.

The three-star lineman had an official visit with Penn State scheduled for the weekend of June 21; he had previously been to campus six times. In addition to the Nittany Lions, Byrne chose Clemson over fellow ACC power Florida State.

Are the Nittany Lions on flip watch in the 2025 recruiting cycle?

Another developing storyline to watch over the summer is the state of the Nittany Lions’ running backs in the 2025 class.

On Thursday, three-star running back Kiandrea Barker reaffirmed his commitment to Penn State football. Earlier in the week, there had been speculation that Barker was set to flip his commitment to Arkansas. For now, at least, Barker appears set to remain a Nittany Lion.

There’s also Alvin Henderson, the top 10 running back in the 2025 cycle, who committed to Penn State in April. However, in-state Auburn has continued pushing for the Alabama prospect, seemingly making headway in recent weeks.

In May, Henderson popped up on The Plains for an unofficial visit, only fueling the speculation that a flip could be possible. Henderson is expected to return to Penn State on June 14.
