Amid the transfer portal palooza on Monday, multiple staff moves were made surrounding the Penn State football team. The Nittany Lions added one and lost another analyst on the coaching staff. As one door closes, another opens for Penn State, and James Franklin has been making quick moves this offseason. The biggest addition to the staff was offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki just last week. Then on Monday, Ola Adams decided to leave Penn State and join the staff at Indiana. While on the offensive side of the ball, the Nittany Lions gained an offensive analyst in Bill Queisert from Kansas.

It was first reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel that Ola Adams would be leaving his role at Penn State as a defensive analyst to become the next defensive backs and safeties coach at Indiana.

Indiana has recently hired former James Madison University Curt Cignetti after moving on from Tom Allen. Cignetti is working quickly to build his coaching staff with the Hoosiers. He chose to go with experience by adding Ola Adams who served as the defensive coordinator at Villanova and time in the NFL coaching the Denver Broncos secondary before joining the Penn State staff this past summer.

Another new offensive staff member

At this point, the Nittany Lions are doing everything they can to assist Andy Kotelnicki with his transition to State College. That transition just became easier for the newly hired Nittany Lions offensive coordinator after Penn State added Bill Queisert as an offensive analyst on Monday.

Queisert was widely considered as Kotelnicki’s right-hand man at Kansas. Queisert was originally hired by the Jayhawks as their offensive line coach but has been in an offensive analyst role since the beginning of the 2023 season. Familiar faces always make the transition a little easier for new hires.
