Penn State football just landed one of the nation’s top prospects from right in its own backyard. On Saturday afternoon, the Nittany Lions landed a commitment from elite 2027 Seton-La Salle wide receiver Khalil Taylor.
Taylor made his pledge on social media after visiting Happy Valley for the Nittany Lions’ spring practice on Thursday. The WPIAL standout chose Penn State football over Pitt and Rutgers.
Taylor is garnering high praise nationally coming off his sophomore year. On3 ranks the western Pennsylvania prospect as the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 16 player overall in the 2027 recruiting class. A four-star, he is the No. 2 recruit in the state, right behind his future Nittany Lion teammate, Kemon Spell.
Penn State football now has three commitments in the 2027 cycle. In addition to Spell and Taylor, Appoquinimink (DE) offensive lineman Layton von Brandt announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions in November.
