After a weekend of impressive talent stepped on campus in Happy Valley, the Penn State football team has new recruiting targets. While prospects from the 2025 recruiting class were taking their official visits, underclassmen participated in various drills and 7-on-7. One of the prospects that was on campus this past weekend was quarterback and 2027 recruiting class member Brady Edmunds. Who came to visit the Nittany Lions without a scholarship offer but left with one after a strong impression.
Penn State football offers elite QB target after weekend visit
Brady Edmunds finished his true freshman season of high school with 24 passing touchdowns and added two more on the ground. The 6-5 quarterback from Huntington Beach, CA has over 20 FBS offers as he enters his sophomore season this fall. He spent the past weekend in Happy Valley showcasing his skillset.
The national recruiting experts have yet to release the rankings for prospects in the 2027 recruiting class. But the expectation is this gunslinger will be one of the top talents in his class. When he arrived, the Nittany Lions were yet to offer Edmunds a scholarship, but that changed on Sunday evening. Edmunds shared the news on Twitter/X.
“After a great conversation with James Franklin I’m excited to have received an offer from Penn State!”
Are the Nittany Lions on the verge of landing a new commit?
After wrapping up his official visit this past weekend, 2025 defensive back Josh Johnson has been predicted to land in Happy Valley according to Rivals. Johnson from Ironton, Ohio is a three-star prospect. Penn State currently has one DB in their 2025 class so, the addition of Johnson is much needed.
Currently, Johnson is a top-40 cornerback in the nation according to On3. Penn State is looking to improve on its 2025 cycle and ranks as the No. 16 class in the country. That ranking could continue to fall after legacy target Michael Carroll has been predicted to land at Alabama by Steve Wiltfong.
