The Penn State football team has been heating up on the recruiting trail. In terms of finding consistent in-state talent and reiterating the importance of keeping those players home. Most recently, it was 2025 recruiting class LB Alex Tatsch who made his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Sunday. Now, the recruiting efforts continue to pay dividends as QB Matt Zollers has included Penn State in his final four college choices.
No. 1 QB in PA’s final four schools includes Penn State football
According to 247Sports, Matt Zollers is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He is currently ranked as the No. 1 QB in Pennsylvania and the No. 13 QB nationally for the 2025 cycle. Zollers recently returned to campus after taking visits to several SEC programs.
Now, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reports that Matt Zollers is down to his final four schools. They include Missurori, Pittsburgh, Georgia, and Penn State football.
Andy Kotelnicki could be a large part of Zoller’s future
Offensive coordinators and quarterback coaches often mold the offense in college football. But the first step is developing trust in each player, especially at quarterback. With Andy Kotelnicki being hired in December and Matt Zollers having the chance to speak with Kotelnicki about his plans for the offense, he could be a large reason if and why the Nittany Lions land this prospect.
There is a way to go in his recruitment, but the fact that Penn State remains on this list after a recent visit is a positive sign of the relationship that has been established.
